Track and Structure Monitoring

Track Monitoring

UKSTE can provide Track Monitoring services where the track Zone of Influence is being impinged by High Risk works, Excavations, Pile Installation or other intrusive works that may cause track Stability issues.

Network Rail standards dictate that where the Track Support zone is impinged, monitoring must take place to 30m either side of the worksite which can be either 60m or several hundred metres long.

UKSTE can also provide the Track Monitoring Plan (TMP) for submittal to the Client as per requirments of Netork Rail Standard NR/L2/CIV/177 Monitoring Track over or adjacent to Building and Civil Engineering works.

We can assist with Ad Hoc Total Station Monitoring or Long Term Static Monitoring Solutions.

Structure Monitoring

Asset Protection is paramount, as above, when intrusive works are taking place close to critical assets, a monitoring regime must be put in place to monitor the stability of the asset and ensure its safety.

Walls, Retaining Walls, Bridges, Gantries, Buildings and Tunnels need to be monitored and reported daily to ensure any settlement/movement of the asset is captured and actioned instantly to allow a more robust monitoring regime to be implemented.

UKSTE can create a bespoke monitoring regime that gives the Client and Stakeholders peace of mind that the asset is in safe hands and that should any movement be detected during or post construction, then it can be quantified and actioned accordingly to allow Engineers and Designers to mitigate a response.

Vibration Monitoring

Sometimes Interval monitoring with a Total Station is just not enough to ensure the asset is completely Safe during High Impact works like CHS Pile Installation, Augering, Operation of Down the Hole Hammers and any work that impart high Vibration close to an asset.

In these cases Vibration Monioting or a combination of both Vibration and Total Station may be required to monitor the asset effectively.

UKSTE can provide onsite Vibration Monitoring services to ensure that vibration levels do not exceed the levels set by the Design Engineers and that works can be slowed or curtailed if the risk to the asset is too great.

We can assist with both Long Term Semi Permanent or Short Term Ad-Hoc portable monitoring for transient works.
